SYNOPSIS
Mare Venus is a large scale contemporary dance work for five performers, a mythopoetic ritual that moves between collapse and regeneration.
On stage, the dancers move through fragmentation, tension and encounter, gradually reorganising into systems of support, care and interdependence. The choreography balances raw physicality with moments of stillness and deep listening, shaping a living architecture of intimacy, tension and surrender.
Inspired by Venusian cycles and Mediterranean myth, Mare Venus proposes a contemporary act of reintegration. Immersive light and sound build a living atmosphere around the performers, guiding the audience into a shared field of attention.
Mare Venus is a piece that imagines other ways of being together, with desire, vulnerability and care at the centre.
AWARDS
PRESS
“With Mare Venus, they embark on an exploration of the world of invocations, the cycles of nature, love, ecology, and natural forces and their influence on human beings.
The visual effects are striking: they draw the audience into the piece, envelop them, and elevate the work to another level.”
