Carlos Gonz\u00e1lez (Valencia, Spain) is a choreographer, performer and cultural manager. He trained in classical and contemporary dance at the Conservatory of Dance of Valencia and the Mar\u00eda de \u00c1vila Higher Conservatory of Dance in Madrid.<\/p>\n
He began his professional career in 2012 as an apprentice with OTRADANZA (Alicante), directed by Asun Noales. In 2013, he joined DANTZAZ Konpainia (San Sebasti\u00e1n), under the direction of Adriana Pous, where he performed repertoire by choreographers such as Itzik Galili, Lucas Timulak and Jone San Mart\u00edn. From 2014 to 2018, he was a member of GHT Tanzcompany (Germany), directed by Marko Weigert and Dan Pelleg, collaborating with international choreographers including Noa Zuk, Adi Salant, Sommer Ulrickson, Hillel Kogan and Shlomi Bitton. During this period, alongside his work as a performer, he began developing his own choreographic voice, creating works such as The Glass Cabinet and Tom in High Heels.<\/p>\n
In 2018, he co-founded EYAS Dance Project, a contemporary dance company based in Valencia, through which he has developed a distinctive choreographic language rooted in physicality, poetic imagery and immersive experiences. Since its creation, the company has presented work in more than nine countries and has been recognised in national and international choreography competitions, receiving multiple nominations at the Valencian Performing Arts Awards. EYAS has also been highlighted by SusyQ magazine as one of the most promising emerging talents in the Spanish contemporary dance scene.<\/p>\n
Alongside his work with EYAS, he has created pieces as a guest choreographer for institutions such as the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome, the Reina Sof\u00eda Professional Conservatory of Dance and Laboratorio 180\u00ba in Madrid. Between 2023 and 2024, he worked as a specialist teacher in Choreographic Composition at the Professional Conservatory of Dance in Alicante.<\/p>\n
His professional profile also extends into cultural management, with over five years of experience in the design and direction of cultural projects. He is the artistic director of the itinerant festival Escenarios de Piedra, through which he develops cultural activation initiatives in different municipalities, focusing on decentralised models for access to contemporary dance. He maintains ongoing collaborations with institutions such as the Institut Valenci\u00e0 de Cultura (IVC), INAEM and the Spanish Ministry of Culture, developing projects supported in the fields of creation, cultural management, mediation and artistic circulation.<\/p>\n
His work brings together artistic creation, public funding strategies and the design of sustainable cultural ecosystems. He focuses on creating spaces for encounter, participation and transformation through the arts, promoting the visibility of contemporary dance and the reactivation of local territories. His approach combines critical thinking, ethical management and the development of accessible artistic experiences with social impact and long-term vision.<\/p>\n
